Additional Information: Limited-edition print depicting Senator John F. Kennedy, based on the 1960 portrait by American artist Norman Rockwell. Kennedy is shown in a light-colored suit and tie in a formal three-quarter portrait. Rockwell created the original portrait during the 1960 presidential campaign for The Saturday Evening Post. The portrait appeared on the October 29, 1960 cover of the magazine and was later reproduced in various print editions. This example appears to be a later lithographic reproduction, with an artist-proof or numbered designation. The edition marking is identified as “A/P" (Artist Proof) in the supplied information. The print is associated with the later limited-edition lithograph style produced by Atelier Ettinger. In October 1976, Atelier Ettinger Inc. hand-proofed and printed John Kennedy as an eleven-color lithograph on papier d'Arches. The edition consisted of 320 impressions measuring approximately 17 x 23¼ inches. Of these, 200 were numbered and 60 artist proofs were signed in pencil by Norman Rockwell. An additional 35 prints were pencil-signed and designated with Roman numerals for the artist, while 25 deluxe examples were printed on Nacre (Japon) paper.
